CLIP is a weekly meet up for anyone with an interest in the more experimental side of music and sound. An opportunity for sonic exploration through collaboration, discussion, sharing ideas, jam sessions, installations, live soundtracks and workshops.

Alongside a weekly meet up CLIP also organise regular performances which showcase ideas and skills developed within the workshops.

Recommended for ages 14+.

Programme for May – June 2019

13 May | Sound and Music for Film
Work in teams to write music and perform live sound effects to a short silent film.

20 May | Synthesisers
A space age jam session with retro and modern synthesisers. You’ll learn how synths work as well as try them out too…

3 June | DIY Instruments
Paper flutes, lollipop harmonicas and duct tape drums. Design your own custom instruments and craft new sounds. Please note this session will take place at Signals, Victoria Chambers, St Runwald Street, Colchester, Essex, CO1 1HF.

10 June | Jam session
Music games and improvisation challenges. Bring whatever instrument you like and let’s jam!

17 June | Personal Projects
Got a track you want to show the group to get some feedback? This session is for you to work on your own music, with our support.

24 June | Circuit bending
Open up battery powered toys and create your own world of unique sounds by playing the circuits themselves.
