CLIP is a weekly meet up for anyone with an interest in the more experimental side of music and sound. An opportunity for sonic exploration through collaboration, discussion, sharing ideas, jam sessions, installations, live soundtracks and workshops.

Alongside a weekly meet up CLIP also organise regular performances which showcase ideas and skills developed within the workshops.

10 SEPTEMBER | TAPE LOOPS

Learn to make and manipulate your own tape loops. Tape splicing is one of the oldest and most powerful techniques used to create electronic music. Equipment provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own cassettes and cassette players.

17 SEPTEMBER | IN (THE) C REHEARSAL

On Sat 22nd September we’ll be performing Terry Riley’s In C on the beach at Great Yarmouth, as part of Yarmonics Festival. This session will be a rehearsal for that performance, but everyone is welcome to attend – whether you intend to perform on not.

24 SEPTEMBER | JAM SESSION

Musical games and improvisation challenges, bring whatever instrument you like and lets jam! CLIP will happily provide instruments for those who can’t bring their own, including synths and guitars.

1 OCTOBER | CIRCUIT BENDING

Dip your toes into the weird and wonderful world of circuit bending. Opening up old battery powered musical toys and connecting different parts of the circuits to discover new, unique and exciting sounds.

15 OCTOBER | SURROUND SOUND

Lets make music with more than two speakers! Creating sounds which spin around the room, or appear from unexpected places by placing speakers around the environment.

29 OCTOBER | SYNTHS

Try out a variety of synths, from a classic Casio SK1 to a reissue Roland Juno – whether you have a stylophone or a Moog all keyboards are welcome and we have some you can try out too.
