Applications for the Firstsite Collectors’ Group Award 2016 have now closed.

The Award supports artists in Essex and Suffolk with their professional career development, and is made possible through the Collectors’ Group’s continuing engagement and interest in contemporary visual art in the region and beyond.

Interested artists are invited to submit a proposal which will be presented to the annual Collectors’ Group Award panel. The nature and level of proposals received will dictate the number and amount of grant awarded. Grants range from £100 – £1,000. The aim of the scheme is to contribute to a larger project or an aspect of professional development.

• Applicants must be based in Essex or Suffolk
• Applicants must complete a Collectors’ Group Bursary Award application form, including three images or details of relevant work as separate attachments, or web links if that work is film/hosted online.
• Applications should demonstrate ambition, and a commitment to current practice and a considered line of enquiry.

Applicants will be informed of the panel’s decision in early December 2016.

The Collectors’ Group is a part of Firstsite’s membership scheme. Members of the Group engage in a specially tailored programme of visits to artists’ studios, private collections, Firstsite’s own exhibitions and other cultural attractions. Funds raised from the Group’s membership fees are put towards the Collectors’ Group Award, complementing Firstsite’s support of practicing artists in the region.
